I just finished reading the novel by Laurent Gaudé: THE HOUSE OF SCORTA. 
A french novel published in 2004 (Prix Goncourt) but I had not read it before… 
I would say that this is one of the best books I have ever read in life, at least as to its depth look at human life. 
The history of this little novel lies in a family of Southern Italy and makes us understand the deeper meaning of life, its successes, its failures and its conclusion, death. 
If there is one conclusion is that the olives are eternal…
