According to the popular writer Isabelle Lafleche “We must appreciate the efforts of a bookseller as Indigo-Chapters to encourage the sale of books by local authors in the cities where their stores are located.” Isabelle made this statement while she held a public signing session on the occasion of the publication of her new novel J’ADORE PARIS.
The book industry has undergone profound changes in marketing and one must actually admit that Chapters-Indigo is probably the one which have best reacted to the new situation in the books sector while promoting local initiatives. Congratulations to his owner Heather Reisman and good luck to Isabelle Lafleche for her new novel!

The new book by French journalist Katia Chapoutier is now available in Canadian bookstores. A book that you would think as a thriller novel because the beginning is very dramatic but the work is intended as a true chronic travel about Jerusalem. Katia Chapoutier knows how to write and her book reflects her talent.
LOST IN JERUSALEM (in French despite the English title…) is a true adventure story that will appeal to anyone who wants to learn more about Jerusalem and its culture.
Read it!

I got a copy of the new Conrad Black’s book: FLIGHT OF THE EAGLE which is just coming out in libraries. It’s about the political history of the United States and it is very well written.
I will read it entirely and tell you more about it. But I can already tell you that Indigo-Chapters is giving the book a bestseller shelve in their stores. Also, like for the Dan Brown’s book, Flight of the Eagle is sold at discount which is only offered for the top selling books.

MISS FOXY is the new mascot at

May 21, 2013

By Bernard Bujold ( –
There is a new resident at Jean Drapeau Park of Montreal: MISS FOXY.
It is a young mother fox and her two little cubs. MISS FOXY is like a little queen of Jean Drapeau Park but she is sometimes snobbish and do not want to encounter everyone… I had the chance to please her and she gave me her company during a whole beautiful spring afternoon!
To thank MISS FOXY… we decided to invite her in team. Miss FOXY is now full member with and other mascots. We even created for her a FACEBOOK page and she already has many admirers.
Miss FOXY considers herself to be a journalist… of social events!

There will be no Triple Crown of horse racing in the United States in 2013…
Indeed the horse ORB lost race at Preakness Stakes, the second qualification after Kentucky Derby and before the Belmont Stakes. The horse OXBOW won the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 18.

The Mayor of Montreal in 2013…

May 16, 2013

By Bernard Bujold ( –
The position of mayor of Montreal is available…
Who will take it?
Few people are interested and several big names refuse to be in the run. We may end up with a mayor by default.
To defeat a candidate well known as a Denis Coderre, one would need another well known candidate as an Amir Khadir or a Gaétan Frigon.
Amir Khadir says he is not interested not any more than is Gaétan Frigon.
A 85 year old man was violently thrown to the ground by police because he wanted to ask a question about Denis Coderre during his press conference…

DAN BROWN – INFERNO and Prince Edward Island…

May 15, 2013

By Bernard Bujold ( –
Would you believe that Dan Brown wrote the last chapter of his new book INFERNO in Prince Edward Island? It’s a bit of an enigma but he said it himself in the book and he even published a picture of the golf course in PEI on his Facebook.

Montreal artist Gregory Charles will present his new show in the Old Port of Montreal from May 29 until June 30. Gregory promises that VINTAGE will be innovative but which also draws attention is the new kind of theater marquee that was built specially for the singer in Germany. The theater could have been in the format like Cirque du Soleil but rather it is glass and metal almost resembling a permanent building. Everything is however temporary much like LEGO blocks. The concept is certainly interesting and we will have to wait and see the result.
