The 55th edition of the World Press Photo exhibition is presented at the Bonsecours Market in Montreal until September 30. In all there are 161 photographs exhibited which were selected from 101,254 images submitted to the jury.
If there is one aspect to criticize about this exhibition is the negative side of the images that represent events of war or tragedy, and there is no real picture of the beauty of life in the world. This is probably influenced by the purpose of journalism that is to bring news about international tragedies and conflicts in the world.
The spokesman for the Montreal edition of World Press Photo is Dennis Trudeau, a well-known journalist. There is a section of the exhibition devoted to the student protests in Quebec…
